As many of you know, Dan Xilon has recently retired after more than 24 years as Executive Director of the Banque d’aliments Sudbury Food Bank.
Throughout his career, Dan devoted himself to serving others and ensuring that individuals and families across our community would not go hungry. Under his leadership, the organization grew into the regional food distribution centre it is today, helping provide more than 17,000 meals each month through support to 22 food banks and 19 partner agencies across Greater Sudbury and area.
In recognition of his lifelong commitment to philanthropy and community service, Dan was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Huntington University prior to his retirement.
As he concludes this remarkable chapter, Dan expressed his intention to hold a fundraiser in support of the Sudbury Food Bank.
