The Loblaw Spring Food Drive is upon us! From March 31st to April 13th you have the opportunity to support the Food Bank while making a purchase at your local Loblaws banner location upon checking out. 100% of the food donations go towards your local Sudbury Food Bank. Lets make these three weeks count! Regardless of if the food is purchased in store or brought from home, lets fill some bins! Use #SpringFoodDrive to share how you are making a difference.
Banner Loblaw locations include Your Independent Grocer’s (YIG) , Real Canadian Super Store, No Frills and Value-mart.
Thank you to our friends at Loblaws for their continued support!
It is that time of the year again! Mark your calendars for June 14th and reserve your spot before they are all gone. We can't wait to see you there!
We recently were presented with a 20,000 cheque from the Rotary Club of Sudbury for all of the funds raised from last years Blues for Food. Down Town Sudbury Rotary Blues for Food 2017 is scheduled for Saturday June 10th on Durham Street,
Thank you to Dean and his team for the generous and truly creative donation! Their disc golf tournament last weekend raised 736$ and really engaged the community in a positive way.
What a food drive! We could not be more grateful for the wonderful community that we have. The impact that everyone has made by donating time and resources is well appreciated and will go towards feeding the hungry in our community. Fifteen soldiers and six vehicles collected food from 400 businesses and 35 schools. All in all the Edgar Burton Food Drive brought in over 100 tonnes of food, officially bringing the 29 year total raised to over 1,000 tonnes. As an organization we can not say thank you enough. Stay tuned as we highlight important individuals and groups that made this all possible.
The Act of Kindness Initiative that they run has always brought a smile to our face when we see it online or in the paper but we never thought we would get the chance to experience it firsthand. We were blown away by the generosity of Sudbury.com and the Fortin Foundation as they surprised us with a 10,000$ donation. This year is an especially tough transition period between the expected rush of the holiday food drive. We could not be more appreciative of the support!
