(SUDBURY, ON) – The Banques d’aliments Sudbury Food Bank (BDSFB) Warehouse has a new neighbor, and they came by to say hello today with a $1000 donation.

Michael Ricci-Lyddiatt, plant manager for Walker Environmental, dropped off the donation last week and explained that the company likes to start off in any new location with a charitable donation to a group in their new home.
“It’s great to see a new business starting up in Sudbury and putting civic engagement high on their priority list,” says Dan Xilon, Executive Director of the BDSFB.  “I hope they’ll be around for years to come as members of the Sudbury community, especially considering the interesting work they’re doing,” he added.

Walker Environmental is working to recycle the sludge of city wastewater and turning it into fertilizer, which in turn will be used for reclaiming tailings land from local mining operations.
