(Sudbury, ON) – The Banques d’aliments Sudbury Food Bank (BDSFB), received an unexpected surprise late last Friday when a representative of the Connor, Clark & Lunn Foundation delivered an unexpected $5000 dollar donation.
The affiliated companies of the Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group have decided that in lieu of Christmas cards, donations would be made to a wide variety of charities across the country.
According to them, “their hope is that this support will have a meaningful impact on those that are less fortunate and bring some happiness during the holiday season.”
“We are often told about large donations before they are actually made,” says Dan Xilon, Executive Director of the BDSFB, “so when someone walks in with one it is always a delightful surprise. It can really pick up the spirit.”
According to Mr. Xilon it is often not only the Food Bank that receives a surprise in such circumstances.
“It’s also often a nice surprise for those making the donations as well, because many of them don’t realize that through our partnerships and the buying power of our associations we are able to turn their financial donation into six times as much in food value.”
