6th Annual Rogers Radio Ton Of Food Drive Saturday Dec 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. outside at Rogers Radio Station on Lasalle
Hosted live by Rich and Gary in the Morning on 105.3 EZ Rock and Terry & Mel from the Sudbury's Best Rock Q-92 Morning Show. This years Radio-Thon is on Saturday December 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. outside at the Rogers Radio Station on Lasalle.
It is a great and easy way to donate funds or food to help feed our areas hungry. You don't even have to get out of your car! Of course you are welcome to do so.
Many special guest will be stopping by to donate some of thier time from City Leaders to Sudbury Wolves!
This 8 hour event was originally pitched 6 years ago with the goal of collecting a "ton" of food for the less fortunate in Greater Sudbury. With two radio stations (Q-92 & 105.3 EZ Rock) broadcasting their challenge to their listeners the goal of 2,000 pounds was achieved in no time at all. Since those terrifc beginnings, the event has come to be one of the most important events of the Holiday Season for the 45 Member Agencies, of the Banque d'aliments Sudbury Food Bank who supply front line services to help feed over 13,500 people who are hungry in our region. To date the event has collected over $31,180.00 in funds, and over 18.8 tons of food!
Radio sound bites are aired for the 2 weeks prior to the event on the Rogers Radio Stations (Q-92, and EZ Rock105) making the public more aware of the rising needs in our community.
This year, the date for the challenge is Saturday December 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Rogers Radio Station on Lasalle Blvd. Looking forward to seeing yo there!! Seasons Greetings!

For the 2nd annual We're Caring Radio People ”Ton of Food Drive" Greater Sudbury really expanded to show how caring we can all truly be. With totals far exceeding last years totals, over 7590 pounds of non-perishable food items and an outstanding $5,300.00 collected during this 12 hour event. With wonderful music and mascots like Sparky, Bernie the Griffin and Scotty from Scholars Choice these years Ton of Food Drive was a smash success.
